Ally is due with baby #2 in just a few short weeks! She and her sweet family were lovely to work with, and I’m still amused by their little one’s extremely serious expressions. We were lucky to catch some of the last bits of Fall color before that night’s rain knocked down most of the leaves, and I love the extra bit of sunset glow we captured in so many of our shots.
Tam, whose family I’ve been photographing for years, has finally opened her new day spa in St. Albans, and she invited me out to take some promotional photos of its grand opening! The mayor of St. Albans and several other city officials came out to take part in the ribbon cutting and officially open the spa for business. Majestic offers a huge variety of beauty services, so there’s a little something for all. It was so exciting to see Tam’s dream becoming reality!

Say hello to Lacey, a senior at George Washington High School here in Charleston. We planned her session around sunset in a field, and we got some really nice autumn light and colors that really complemented her look!
It was wonderful to see the Johnsons again for their annual Fall photos! This year’s set included the kids’ grandmother, as well, which I love to see. It’s always special to capture several generations of a family!
Toby’s mom wanted a bright and citrusy milk bath for his 6 month photos. This age is so fun and adorable since a lot of babies are beginning to sit up more, which means new poses! His big sis even got in on the fun when he was finished. 😊

The Capitol is so beautiful this time of year. All the trees are blossoming, and there are tulips everywhere! Tam wanted a family session at the peak of the cherry blossoms, and the colors really made their photos pop!
I really missed these guys last year when I was on Covid hiatus. I’ve been doing annual sessions with them since 2015, back when Silas and Avery were tiny, so it’s crazy to see how tall they’re getting these days! Ridenour Lake was a perfect Fall location, too — so many leaves on the trails!

It had been three years since the last time I did photos for Claire and her family, and her girls looked so grown up compared to the last session! We were dying in the 90 degree weather, but we at least missed the rainstorm that came through right as we wrapped things up!
A few maternity shots I got of my little sister, who’s expecting her first little one in July. The heat drove us back indoors pretty quickly, but she only wanted a couple of photos to remember this exciting time. 🙂
