Spring is here, and that means flowery family photos! The WV Capitol does such a beautiful job landscaping each year that it’s an annual favorite spot for sessions. It’s been a few years since I last did a session with this family, and these sweet kiddos had grown up so much in that time — I think their sibling shots are some of my favorites from this shoot.

Family » The Johnsons
Families & KidsOne of the very best parts of my job is the privilege of shooting the same families year after year and seeing how much kids change in the time between sessions. I’ve been doing annual photos with the Johnsons since 2015, and it blows my mind to remember how tiny Avery and Silas were back then.
Families » The Johnsons
Families & KidsIt was wonderful to see the Johnsons again for their annual Fall photos! This year’s set included the kids’ grandmother, as well, which I love to see. It’s always special to capture several generations of a family!
Babies » Toby’s 6-Month Milk Bath
Families & KidsToby’s mom wanted a bright and citrusy milk bath for his 6 month photos. This age is so fun and adorable since a lot of babies are beginning to sit up more, which means new poses! His big sis even got in on the fun when he was finished. 😊
For more fruit bath photos, check out my strawberry tub session from a few years back. I’m always game for more of these shoots — they’re just too sweet!
Families » Spring at the Capitol
Families & KidsThe Capitol is so beautiful this time of year. All the trees are blossoming, and there are tulips everywhere! Tam wanted a family session at the peak of the cherry blossoms, and the colors really made their photos pop!

Families & KidsI really missed these guys last year when I was on Covid hiatus. I’ve been doing annual sessions with them since 2015, back when Silas and Avery were tiny, so it’s crazy to see how tall they’re getting these days! Ridenour Lake was a perfect Fall location, too — so many leaves on the trails!
Families » Claire
Families & KidsIt had been three years since the last time I did photos for Claire and her family, and her girls looked so grown up compared to the last session! We were dying in the 90 degree weather, but we at least missed the rainstorm that came through right as we wrapped things up!
Family » Finney & Prichard
Families & KidsI’ve worked with Tanna and her precious twin girls several times now, but for this shoot, she wanted to include her sister’s family as well!
We met at Ridenour Park in Nitro, which I’d never been to before. Glad I’ve finally visited; it’s extremely pretty there! This shoot was for Tanna’s family and her sister’s — five little cousins and their aunts and uncles. 🙂 It’s the first extended family sesson I’ve done and we ended up with some adorable shots.
